Ibrahim Balami, a young engineer, entrepreneur and 2015 Mandela Washington Fellow on the Business and Entrepreneurship Track, born on the 4th of September, 1982, has gained over 15 years’ business experience since he started out aged 18. Ibrahim is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IBBA 36 Global Concept, a company incorporated in March 2013, which specializes in wheat milling for the production of wheat Grit and Semolina, with emphasis on bridging the nutritional gap of diabetic patients within his community of North Eastern Nigeria. He has employed over 60 youths in the cause of doing his business, with special attention to the vulnerable youth that can easily be used as agents of violence if left idle.
Ibrahim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maiduguri, and is passionate about youth empowerment through entrepreneurship and currently is involved in mentoring young people toward the actualization of their dreams and potential. He is married to Hauwa Balami, with two lovely kids Palesa and Alfred.
