Ikuba John Ona is over 9 years’ experience as a University lecturer and Research Assistant at the University of Agriculture. Makurdi. He has a PhD in Biofuels production from agricultural waste from the University of Strathclyde Glasgow. He has founded several organizations including Royaldream Builders Initiative-An NGO committed to the promotion of entrepreneurship in North central Nigeria as well as Hexagon Renewables- A bioenergy company with interest in producing biofuels from Agricultural residues. He was a Finalist in the 2nd West African Forum for Clean Energy Financing ( WAFCEF ) held in September 2015 in Abidjan. He is the Founder/Project Director of agrolinkng.com -an online platform that links farmers with buyers of agro products. His long term plan is to develop this platform to be the most influential and innovative platform in Nigeria that provides information, links as well as enhance the livelihood of rural farmers. He believes that an innovative market solution using ICT is the key to digital inclusion in rural Africa leading to enhanced earnings for rural farmers and the reduction of the influence of middlemen in the rural market. He is a recipient of President Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship for 2015 in civic leadership at the Arizona State University Phoenix. He is passionate about renewable energy and entrepreneurship especially in Agriculture and information technology.
