Mr. Mamadou Edrisa Njie is a motivational speaker, coach and serves as a mentor to many young Gambian especially young journalists. He represented his country in numerous trainings, seminars, conferences both nationally and internationally.

Njie is an international journalist cum social justice activist always eager to share his ideas with others and to get theirs in return. Some of his writing samples are posted on his blog and The Daily News (

He is the founder of the Global Youth Innovation Network Gambia chapter ( and former editorial assistant and newsroom coordinator at The Gambia News and Report Weekly Magazine, the only current affairs magazine in Banjul, The Gambia

Njie is passionate about Youth Development, Communication, Marketing, Public Relations and Environment particularly in the areas of Strategy, Communication Management, Research, Leadership, Mentoring, Training and Reporting

Mr. Njie is an alumna of the International Institute for Journalism- Germany (IIJ of InWent), Ambassador GYIN, Ambassador One Young World ( and a Founding Member cum Social Secretary Biodiversity Action Journalists- The Gambia (BAJ- The Gambia).

Studied Mass Communication at the Institute of Professional Administration and Management (IPAM) and a lifetime member of the Young Jounalists Association of The Gambia (YJAG) and Jarumeh Koto Youth Development Association

Born and raised in Jarumeh Koto, Sami District, in Central River Region, the first son of Mr. Edrisa and Mrs. Ramatoulie Saidy-Bah. Hailing from a devout Muslim family, he first went to the “Dara” Koranic school, and then to Jarumeh Koto Primary School, Junior Secondary School, High School and Tertiary Institute.

It was November 2006 when he started practicing Jounalism with the Daily Express Newspaper till late January when he joined The Gambia News and Report Weekly Magazine as a Staff Reporter.

In 2012, he was appointed a member of the project steering committee of the National Agricultural Land and Water Management Development Project (Nema)- International Fund for Agricultural Development funded project in The Gambia.


In 2014, he was again appointed Steering Committee Member of the Nema project Intern Professional Body.


Njie is the CORY-The Gambia National Project Coordinator.
