Mr Moses Abukari, a Ghanaian, is an international development practitioner working at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD, a specialized United Nations Agency based in Rome) since mid-2006. Mr Abukari worked on many thematic issues and initiatives as a consultant in IFAD in various divisions as Portfolio Management Consultant and as Water Management and Rural Transport Consultant. Mr Abukari was appointed as Country Programme Manager for The Gambia since September 2011 and also serve as the Youth Focal Point for the West and Central Africa Division of IFAD.
Prior to joining IFAD, Mr Abukari was an active Executive Board member for the co-management of the Wageningen University and Research Centre, The Netherlands, where he represented the interest of large segment of international students from August 2005 to July 2006.
Mr Abukari was a teaching assistant at the School of Agriculture of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He also served on various leadership and managerial positions for various committees and commissions during his graduate and undergraduate education.
Mr Abukari holds BSc in Agriculture from University of Cape Coast, Ghana and MSc in International Land and Water Management from Wageningen University and Research Centre, The Netherlands. Mr. Abukari one on the three alumni to institute the annual “Agrarian Award” in recognition of best agricultural undergraduate student at the University of Cape Coast since 2004.
Mr Abukari is member of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and represents IFAD in the International Board of Directors of the Global Youth Innovation Network.
